Born August 5, 1952 in Santa Rosa. Died suddenly on December 21, 2001 in Santa Rosa at the age of 49. Loving and beloved son of Edwardine M. Cann and the late Hilmar J Cann. Most special brother of Kathleen C. Lane of Santa Rosa, Christopher E. Cann of San Francisco, Brian P. Cann of Fremont and Michael D. Cann of Santa Rosa. Friend and brother-in-law of James Lane, Liv Cann, and Daphne Cann. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A graduate of Piner High Class of 1970 and Sonoma State University Hutchins School Class of 1975. He was a former employee of Mailer-Frey Sports & Chem Dry. "We will miss his love of all things in the sky: clouds, airplanes, and especially the stars. The depth of his knowledge covered an amazing range; the natural world, animals, motorcycles and machines, history, and more which he shared at length with others with his classic 'Mug Root Beer Lesson of the Day.' His passion for learning was as contagious as his laughter.
