Steve and I had been emailing since the reunion. Here are a few quotes I'd like to pass on:

"I want you to know that I consider you and Vince and Mark and Pat and Steve as some of my best friends from my school days."

"If I'd known I was going to live this long I'd have taken a lot better care of myself."

"I'll be back sooner or later. ... Miss you all, Steve."

I was walking home down Fulton Road near the corner with Guerneville Rd after school and Steve was on his motorcycle stopped at the stop light with Terry Fountain in his muscle car behind him. When the light changed they took off in a cloud of smoke, with Steven's bike in a wheelie. About half way through the intersection Steve's bike flipped all the way over and Terry slammed on his brakes. I was sure that Steve had been run over and killed, but it turned out that the fates had better things in store for Steve.
