I will most remember Jim for his incredible sense of humor, such a dry wit. He loved to have fun, but was a very caring person also. He has passed way too soon, but I believe he lived up to his Classmates.com biography statement: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, tires smoking, Champagne in one hand, Strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, burned up, your hair on fire and screaming "YAAAAA BABY - what a ride!" ....................You will be missed Jim.
Many of you will remember Jim as a fun loving kid from our school days. Most are not aware of the kind and helpful things that he did without fanfare. For our Piner first five Reunion, he was a first class guy without any publicity. He made me promise to keep this info to myself. But now with his passing, I want all to know of the Jim he became as an adult. He not only attended the reunion. He helped by giving a ride to a fellow classmate from southern California whom he hardly knew. He also paid for another classmate who could not afford to attend. He made numerous donations in large amounts to help out not only for the reunion but for the Piner Hall of Fame Lights in Five to bring lights to the football field and also the Piner Foundation Human Race fundraiser. He did this out of the goodness of his heart without his name in lights. This is the Jim that his family knew and we should be proud of the man that he had become since we all went to Piner together.
