Bill Rogers - Coach


July 10, 1926 - September 11, 2017 



William (Bill) Rogers died Monday, September 11, 2017 at age 91. Bill was a life long resident of Santa Rosa. He attended local schools and was a proud member of Santa Rosa High School Class of 1944. He was a graduate of the University of Southern California which he attended on a track scholarship. Fight On! He also played minor league baseball for the then New York Giants. Bill married Connie Wilson in 1948 and they had 69 wonderful years together. They enjoyed the outdoors and loved camping. Bill taught and coached at both Montgomery High School and Piner High School. At Piner he was head baseball coach and athletic director. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Santa Rosa for over 50 years. 

He is survived by Connie and his children Ellen Anderson (Ray), Mary Wells (Allan) and William Rogers (Lianne). Also survived by his grandchildren Connie Pava (Justin), Thomas Anderson, William Rogers, James Rogers (Alex) and Jay Rogers. Thank you to Memorial Hospice for all their support. Graveside Services will by held Monday, September 18 at 11am at Santa Rosa Memorial Park, 1900 Franklin Avenue.
