Bob Wilson - Teacher

"A sad day for me. Just learned this morning that my high school music teacher passed away. Mr. Wilson was an inspiring and talented teacher. I believe he graduated from SF State and started teaching at Piner High School in Santa Rosa in the 67-68 academic year. He and I had wonderful relationship. He teased me about playing Viola, but supported me totally. Mr. Wilson was also a very talented musician. He played trombone and string bass. He got me laughing a lot with his stories of jazz clubs and gigs he played. After I graduated I didn't get to see him often, but when I did, he would call me his "one failure" because I went to conservatory/college and studied music and went "pro."

I also remember fondly his wife, a beautiful woman who played piano beautifully and accompanied me on my early solo pieces. I hope Mrs. Wilson and the family find solace in their love and memories of someone that influenced and inspired so many young musicians. Bob Wilson, may you rest in peace......"

"Recently we received the sad news that Mr. Robert Wilson passed away on August 3, 2016 from heart complications.  He was also one of the original teachers at Piner, teaching music and choir, but in later years multiple other subjects.  He too was beloved and respected by his students and coworkers."

WOW .... I am so sorry to read this. Mr Wilson was a "Great Guy" & his wife was wonderful!
They lived on Steel Lane while I was in school I would go by from time to time.
If anyone know how to contact his wife, please let me know .... John, Class of '69
